I have an interesting question; what percentage of Jews that spend Pesach at a hotel , have their kids on some sort of scholarship program at their schools?

Berg was a philanderer and under investigation by the New York Insurance Department Fraud Division,when he took his girfriend(his present wife) to Israel,to steal the writings of his then wife's uncle, Asher Brandwein.
The charade as being a Jewish movement is pathetic, and the stroke which left him incapacitated, could not have come too soon.
Watching the recent taped interview of his wife and two sons from her, on 20/20,was real easy for me to confirm what I always knew about people, give the gullible a little hope and their brains dissolve totally. His particular group is composed of lost morons, druggies and high priced hookers.
How any normal, thinking, mildly rational person can not see through this scam is beyond belief.

I agree with you about most Jewish Organizations that do nothing except give their ideas about everything. But I strongly disagree with you about the previous pope. I think that he was as we say in Spanish a real " Mentsch" He didn't have to stick his neck out. He could have just let the status quo remain as it was. But he didn't. Shlomo and Yaakov Mandel, sons of R' Manis Mandel ran the Yeshiva of Bklyn Boy's divisin to the ground. Countless boys were viciously beaten, myself included. I remember one of the most "horrible sins" committed by us "rebels" was wearing sneakers that were higher than one's ankle!
Yaakov was in charge of the elementary and conducted more of the beatings. He had a particular penchant for publicly pulling down young boys' pants and viciously beating their behinds.
Shlomo was busy running his "mesivta" but was a real animal too. As "Rosh HaYeshiva" it can be argued that he was the bigger monster for allowing his younger brother to ruin so many peoples lives.
Simply put, they were the Gestapo. I am enraged as I write this and I cannot forget the last time I was hit by one of the Mandels ; it was in the face, by Shlomo, after he summoned me to in front of a gathering of 50 students. I was completely innocent - completely. He publicly threw me out of Yeshiva and declared to the assembled students (7th & 8th grade) how happy he was to be M'kaim the Mitzvah of Chinuch.
I will never forgive Shlomo and cannot wait until his time is up and he will be forced to face the "ultimate grand jury."
Today, the brothers went "splitsville" and Shlomo kicked Yaakov out of the "Yeshiva" blaming him for its failure.
Rumor has it that a few years ago there were some people looking to file a class action lawsuit agains the bums. I don't know what became of it.
I'd hate to leave out Avrohom Raider - former principal of YOB who wouldn't dare send his own fine children to the boys school lest they suffer too. The last memory I have of Raider was his hulking, obese, sweaty figure, hovering over my skinny 13 year-old frame, repeatedly banging my head against a cinderblock wall.
I heard similar stories from other people,but was unable to get a first hand confirmation until now.

I must say that as a University educated successful professional "ba'al tshuva" (became "frum" in my early 20's; I am now in my early 50's), this stuff is freaky! Had I known about this stuff I never would have made the decision to be observant. I gave up a lot of physical and emotional comforts in order to be observant. I think this insane welfare judaism and anti-education outlook is giving me a serious mid life crisis. My Boro Park wife would be very upset to know that I am losing a lot of emunah. What is the cure? Set my own standards for myself?

No, I was responding to YOU! Unfortuantely you have no hakaras hatov to those who benevolently gave you an opportunity to learn torah. Noone forced you to attend any yeshiva. Your parents presumably cajoled the hanhala to accept you. If you were not happy, then you should have left. Or blame your parents for haeving you attend any instititution that they chose to enroll you in.
But in our market economy, noone is forced to purchased any good or service. And the fact tht yeshivas are full to the rafters, is a sign that while you fauled (presumably because of personal deficincied readily on display to anyone who reads you posts/comments)others(myself included) have gained a lot.
